I Want to Bike Free

Jean Michel, probably under the influence of something, decided that using his bike to win the Tour de France was overrated and that running was better, anyway. So he set off, leaving his bike behind.

But you, his trusty, bikey companion, will not let him down. With all your bikey might, stand under Michel to force him to mount you and to bike his way to victory.

Made in under 48 hours for the GMTK 2023 game jam.

Controls are as follow:

W: accelerate

D: decelerate

A-S: steer

SPACE: to use in menus, or to pause the game When the game is paused, press R to reset the current level.

Why does it fit the theme:

You play as the ridden, not as the rider, making sure you loyally follow the rider's order. Roles reversed.

If you still don't get what this game is about:

You have to make sure Jean Michel stays over you (you are the orange bike). If he does, he gets a speed boost, allowing him to finish within less time than without your help. You also get points by staying near him, points which you need to have to finish levels.

They supposingly all run quicker than the online version. Windows build was tested with Wine, but Linux and Mac builds were tested on, respectively, Linux Mint 20.3 and MacOs  10.15.7
